The White House excluded many big US news firms, including a few it has criticised, from an off-camera briefing held by the White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on Friday.

Journalists from well known and popular news channels including CNN, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Politico, and BuzzFeed were not permitted into the session in the office of Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

Spicer’s off-camera briefing replaced the usual televised daily news briefing in the White House briefing place. He neglected to point out why those specific media organisations were excluded, a decision which attracted strong protests.

President Donald Trump has on a regular basis attacked the media channels and also at a conference associated with conservative activists on Friday.
