“Make-in-Andhra Pradesh”: AP Inks MoU Worth $ 6.4 Billion To Develop International Industrial Park

The Andhra Pradesh Government has inked an MoU with China Association of Small and Medium Enterprises and China Small and Medium Investment Group Limited, Beijing for the development of International Industrial Park at Donakonda, Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh.

The park will house a Building Materials Industrial Park and Modern Building Materials logistics Park. The Building Material Industrial park will come up in an area of 20 Square Kilometers with an investment of Rs.60,36,52,50,000 (US $ 0.9 Billion) and will manufacture all categories of building materials and low- carbon energy-saving new materials. This park will provide direct employment to 10,000 people.

The Modern Building Materials Logistics Park will also be set up in 20 Square Kilometers with an investment of Rs. 3,68,89,87,49,999 (US $5.5 Billion) and will take care of the distribution and be a logistics centre of all categories of building materials. 35,000 people will be directly employed.

The proposed total investment is US $ 6.4 billion.

The project is envisaged to be completed in 3 Phases:

1) In the 1st Phase, Rs. 10106.2 crores will be invested providing direct employment to 10,000 people and indirect employment to 22,000 people.

2) In the 2nd Phase, the investments will be to the tune of Rs.12127.6 crores providing direct employment to 21,000 people and indirect employment to 60,000 people.

3) Whereas in Phase 3, investments will be worth Rs. 14148.8 crores, thus providing direct employment to 24,000 and indirect employment to 38,000 people.

The collaboration is mainly aimed at setting up an International Industrial Park in the state, as the first of its kind in India, within a vision of “Make-In-Andhra Pradesh”.

The park will attract manufacturing industries and logistics companies from China and other countries to invest and set up units and will also create large-scale employment in the backward region of Donakonda, Prakasam district.

The products manufactured will be supplied to local markets, other areas of India and the export market.

The park will manufacture structured materials like wood, bamboos, stones, cement, concrete, metals, bricks, tiles, ceramics, glass, engineering plastics and composite materials etc.
Decoration materials like coatings, paint, cladding materials, veneering, ceramic tiles in all colors and glass with special effects etc will also be manufactured.

Manufacturing of special materials like water proof, moisture proof, anti-corrosion, fire prevention, flame retardant, sound proof, heat-insulating, thermal- insulating and sealing materials will also take place.

FIH Rankings: India Jump To 5th Spot




Following the Indian men hockey team’s silver medal winning performance at the Champions Trophy in London, they now jumped two places to fifth spot in the latest rankings, issued by the International Hockey Federation (FIH).

World Cup holders and Champions Trophy winners Australia remained at the top of the men’s rankings while Netherlands, the Olympic and World Champions held on to top spot in the women’s rankings.

There is no change in the men’s top three nations, with Netherlands ranked second and Germany third. While England (and Great Britain) remain fourth.

In the women’s rankings, Argentina’s stunning title success at the Champions Trophy keeps them in 2nd spot.

Australia and New Zealand remain in third and fourth place respectively, but fifth place is now held by USA.





Around 2,200 Latvian Nationals Support Initiative To Leave EU




More than 2,200 Latvian nationals have come forward and supported the idea that the country should leave the European Union.

According to the social initiatives web site manabals.lv, if the initiative gains 10,000 signatures, then the Latvian Parliament will have to consider the issue of holding a Referendum on EU membership.

Latvia joined the EU in 2004.

On 23rd of June, the United Kingdom held a referendum to decide whether or not the country should leave the European Union, and majority of people in the country voted for Brexit.

51.9 percent of voters, or 17.4 million people decided to leave the EU.





TWO Women Appointed As Judges Of Islamic Shariah High Court In Malaysia




In Malaysia, two women have been appointed as judges of Islamic Shariah High Court for the first time in the history of the judiciary of the Muslim-majority country.

Noor Huda Roslann (40) and Nenney Shuhaidah Shamsuddin (41) obtained their official letters of appointment during a ceremony at the Istana Bukit Kayangan.

Roslan and Shamsuddin termed it as a positive development for the judiciary.

Shariah High Court, refers to Sharia law in Islamic religious law and deals with exclusively Islamic laws, having jurisdiction upon every Muslim in Malaysia.





BIG News: Messi Announces Retirement From International Football




Football star Lionel Messi on Monday announced his retirement from International Football.

The retirement decision was announced after Chile beat Argentina in the final of Copa America.

He said it hurts not to be a champion. The 29-year-old player said he did all he could do for his country but for him the national team is over. However, he will continue to play his club football for Spanish champions F.C. Barcelona.

Messi made his debut for Argentina in 2005 and he became the FIFA World Player of the Year for five times.

Messi is the HIGHEST Scorer for Argentina with 55 goals.





India’s Economic Exposure: India Owns $121 bn Worth U.S. Govt Securities




Amid uncertain global economic cues, India has increased its exposure and latest data says India’s holding of American government Securities in April jumped to over $121 billion.

According to the latest data from the US Treasury Department, this also marks a steep rise from the level seen in April 2015 when the country held American government securities to the tune of 110.3 billion dollars.

There has been a mixed trend in terms of countries’ exposure to these securities, with neighbouring China slightly trimming its holding while Japan, increased its exposure in April.

China owned US government securities worth 1.24 trillion dollars in April while that of Japan touched USD 1,142.8 billion dollars.

When it comes to the BRIC countries, Russia and China have cut their exposure while Brazil has purchased more securities.

During the same period, Brazil’s exposure went up to 249.1 billion whereas Russia trimmed its holding to 82.5 billion dollars.





Rio Olympics: List Of FOUR Qualified Indians




On Sunday, four Indians qualified for the Rio Olympics beginning 5th of August.

In Track and Field, Mohammad Anas in 400-meters, Srabani Nanda in 200-metres and Ankit Sharma in Long Jump made the cut, while Atanu Das sealed a berth at the games in Archery.

Mohammad Anas shattered his own 400-metre national record at the Polish Athletics Championship to qualify.

He clocked 45.40 seconds, the exact Rio qualification timing.

Over at the international meet in Kazakhstan, Sprinter Srabani Nanda made the cut after covering 200-meter event in 23.03 seconds.

In the field event, national long jump record holder Ankit Sharma qualified with a jump of 8.17 metres.

Archer Atanu Das has made it to the Games after selection trial at Bengaluru.

The archer will represent India in the Men’s Individual Recurve event.

He got the better of his compatriots Jayanta Talukdar and Mangal Singh Champia for the spot.

One Direction star Niall Horan is stunned by the decision of British public on Brexit.

Irish pop star Horan took to Twitter and opined on Brexit by saying he is deeply disturbed by the “Brexit” vote.

“It’s a sad day. The economic impact that this is going to have is definitely going to make those voters regret their decision,” he tweeted.

Attacking Nigel Farage, leader of the UK Independence Party, who was among those who led the campaign to leave the EU, Horan tweeted, “how can you sway that many people into thinking their health service is going to be funded and when the vote goes your way.”

He further mentioned, “tell them we shouldn’t have said that and it was a mistake.”
