American multinational tech giant Microsoft on 30th of August announced that the company will require its suppliers and contractors to provide at least 12 weeks of paid parental leave at up to $1,000 per week.

The specific policy will apply to companies with 50 or more employees who perform “substantial” work for Microsoft.

The policy will also apply to parents who take time off for adoption.
