Accelerating Poverty Reduction in Mozambique: Challenges and Opportunities

Inequality in the country has remained high and has reduced the potential for economic growth. If growth had been more equally shared, Mozambique could have lifted more than two million people out of poverty between 1997 and 2009.
For Mozambique to achieve further gains in poverty reduction, a new report recommends to connect more of the Population to the growth process, increase adoption of productivity enhancing technologies in the agriculture sector and protect vulnerable people from the effects of extreme weather.
