Horizon Prize: first winners awarded for innovations in spectrum & fibre

First Horizon Prize winners just announced:

• The team led by the Centre for telecommunications Research of King’s College London developed a unique spectrum sharing solution which could improve spectral efficiency by more than 30% in certain cases, like the sub-GHz frequency spectrum.
• The project from the Department of Photonics Engineering at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet – DTU developed ultra-high capacity fibres, which can transmit information over thousands of kilometres, with significant energy and Cost Savings.

Each team gets €500.000. Congratulations!
