Costlier by 120% Bengaluru Airport hikes user fee

The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (Aera) have raised the user development fee (UDF) for the next four months starting from 16.04.19.

The travel cost for both international and domestic flights has a new charge, i.e. 119% and 120% respectively.

The Kempegowda International Airport has recorded to handle around 26.91 million passengers in FY18 and is considered o be one of the fastest growing airports in the world.

The airport authorities have hiked the UDF

It will be costlier on the part of passengers to fly from Bengaluru airport. The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (Aera) have raised the user development fee (UDF) for the next four months starting from 16.04.19.

Bengaluru airport is the third busiest airport after Delhi and Pune. However, for its expansion, it needs a fundraiser. Therefore Aera has revised the price of domestic and international departures to ₹306 and ₹1,226 respectively.

And the travel cost for both international and domestic flights has a new charge, i.e. 119% and 120% respectively.

The second phase expansion needs a Budget of ₹13,000 crore to build a new terminal, a second runway, roads, and multimodal transport hub that will be probably completed by March 2021.
