Up close and personal under our Soyuz MS-03 rocket. My backup crewmate ESA astronaut Paolo Nespoli took these pictures. The prime crew is not allowed to see the real rocket until launch day – it is considered bad luck! I can look at pictures though. The red cones are protective covers that will be removed before takeoff. They are painted red so the ground control doesn’t forget!
