Automotive Innovation Centre: Ratan Tata, Cyrus Mistry unveil foundation stone of research centre

Emphasizing on expansion and development of engineering capability, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has started development of its new National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC) at the University of Warwick in the UK.

Foundation stone for innovation centre, funded by Jaguar Land Rover, Tata Motors, has been unveiled by Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata and Chairman of Tata Sons Cyrus Mistry.

According to the statement of JLR, the automaker is planning to invest £150m on the project, which will incorporate innovation workshops, R&D facilities, virtual designing suites and progressed powertrain facilities.

As indicated by the statement, the NAIC project is the following stage in the organization’s strategy to grow and build up its Worldwide R&D and designing ability.

The 33,000m2 office will open in the spring of 2017 and utilize around 1,000 individuals, the statement said.
