2019 Lok Sabha Polls: Congress forms six committees in Uttar Pradesh

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress on Saturday announced their formation of six committees in Uttar Pradesh. This election committee will be chair by the party’s state unit chief Raj Babbar.

According to the Congress general secretary KC Venugopal, Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid is also a part of these committees and will actively participate in election committee as well as election strategy and planning committee.

He further stated that Congress president Rahul Gandhi had approved the proposal regarding the formation of six committees in Uttar Pradesh which includes election committee, campaign committee, election strategy, and planning committee, coordination committee, manifesto committee, and media and publicity committee.

According to the statement, The chairmanship of the campaign committee has been given to a former MLA from Hapur, Gajraj Singh whereas Rashid Alvi is the chairman of manifesto committee. Rajiv Shukla, the former chairman of Indian Premier League, has been given the chairmanship of media and publicity committee. Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Ajay Kumar Lallu has been made the chairman of the coordination committee.
