Arrests in UP, Karnataka and Rajasthan for ‘pro- pak’ slogans on social media

Many people in different states of India were arrested for making offensive statements on Pulwama attack. Belgavi police arrested a school teacher from Karnataka on Sunday.

Some activists also tried to set fire to the house of the teacher just after the information spread over the state.

Also in Uttar Pradesh, The state police have arrested four persons for posting objectional remarks on various social media platforms.

Many people in different states of India were arrested for making offensive statements on Pulwama Attack. Belgavi police arrested a school teacher from Karnataka on Sunday. Sudheer Kumar Reddy, the Superintendent of police, said that the schoolteacher belongs to kadabi, shivapur village near Saundati and she was arrested just hours after her posts on what’s app regarding Pulwama attack. The police official also said she was charged under section 124 and 124 A of the Indian Penal Code.

Some activists also tried to set fire to the house of the teacher just after the information spread over the state. They were also arrested, and the case has been registered against them.
Meanwhile, in Rajasthan, four Kashmiri origin women students were booked for sedition. The students belong to the national institute of medical sciences and were celebrating the Pulwama terror attack. According to the police official statement, FIR was registered on the students at Jaipur district’s Chandwaji police station regarding their posts on Social Media.

Also in Uttar Pradesh, The state police have arrested four persons for posting objectional remarks on various social media platforms. The police official statement revealed that the students were booked under section 153A of IPC and section 66 of the IT Act. The police also said that the students defamed in custody immediately after their ‘pro- Pakistan slogans on social media.
