Developing East Asia and Pacific is exceeding expectations – with better global growth prospects and strong domestic demand, we project the region will grow at 6.4% in 2017.
China is expected to grow at 6.7% in 2017, the same pace as in 2016 before slowing gradually in 2018-19. For the rest of the region, including Southeast Asia, growth in 2017 will be slightly faster at 5.1% in 2017 and 5.2% in 2018, up from 4.9% in 2016.
