Dhawal Kulkarni disappointed after snub

Ahead of Ranji Trophy, there has been fresh controversy over whether Kulkarni has been dropped from the game or he is allotted rest time for few more days. Dhawal has recovered from his ankle injury yet he was left behind for league game against Vidarbha.

The match will be held from December 30- January 2 at Vidharbha Cricket Stadium in Jamtha, Nagpur. Fellow players Shardul Thakur and Tushar Deshpande who even suffered injuries did recover Ana back in the game, but Kulkarni was left behind because the team cannot take a chance with its players and if any of the breakdown in the middle of the match it would be difficult for the team, a source said.

Kulkarni suffered from a swollen ankle during a match in Gujarat at Wankhede stadium last month, he recovered at National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore but was advised for rest by Mumbai physician. Kulkarni has played 12 ODIs, and a T20 for India has taken 260 wickets in 85 First class games.
