Nine months since the Referendum vote to leave the EU, Prime Minister Theresa May has triggered Article 50, which means Britain is set to leave in 2019.

Prime Minister May has effectively signed the Brexit letter on Wednesday, and delivered to the European Council President Donald Tusk by a representative.

Responding on the Brexit letter, EU Council President Donald Tusk has said that there is “no reason to pretend that this is a happy day” after formally accepting the UK’s letter triggering Article 50 and the country’s withdrawal from the EU.
