The Cabinet also approved an ordinance to bring out the loopholes in the corporate governance framework and improve the ease of doing business. The government failed to amend the Companies Act in the budget session that sought to re-categorize 16 minor offenses as purely civil defaults. The action is seen as an attempt to cut down litigations for a minor infringement of the Companies Act and limitlessly enhance the ease of working together for corporates.
