Indian women’s national team cricketer Smriti Shriniwas Mandhana has won the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award for the ICC (International Cricket Council) Women’s Cricketer of the Year.

The 22-year-old opener, who scored 669 runs in 12 One-day Internationals (ODIs) at an average of 66.90 in 2018, was also named ICC ODI Player of the Year.

In 25 T20Is (Twenty20 International) in 2018, she made 622 runs at a strike rate of 130.67.

With this award, Mandhana becomes only the second India woman player to win an ICC award after fast bowler Jhulan Goswami, who was named the ICC Women’s Player of the Year in 2007.

Mandhana was the only Indian player to be named in the ICC Women’s Team of the Year 2016.
