With the price hike in southern and western regions, cement prices have started to recover after a year.

Till the end of 2018, cement companies were resorting to giving discounts to push sales.

In Southern and Western markets there is an increase in prices of Rs 40-45 a bag and 8 percent (Rs 12-15/bag), respectively. North, East and Central regions saw 2-3 percent improvement(Rs 5-8/bag).

With the price hike in southern and western regions, cement prices have started to recover after a year. According to dealers and industries, prices have gradually picked up from February in few markets but came into effect from March in all over the country effectively. Prices discovered by Rs 15-20 a bag to Rs 310-315 compared to what he was prevailing till January 2019.

Till the end of 2018, cement companies were resorting to giving discounts to push sales. However, that approach is changing gradually. There was an average increase of six percent across the country. It was 15 percent in the south as well as west whereas, the rise is minimal in other markets.
