Video streaming platform ‘Hotstar’ expects to reach more than 300 million viewers during the upcoming IPL season.

The estimated viewers are about 50% more than it was last year, while also making the viewing experience more interactive.

According to Varun Narang, chief product officer, Hotstar, they have invested a lot in getting ready to be able to scale their platform and reach over 300 million users this IPL season.

According to Varun Narang, chief product officer, Hotstar, they have invested a lot in getting ready to be able to scale their platform and reach over 300 million users this IPL season. A lot of efforts that have gone into scaling the technology to get them is ready for the reach and concurrency. He also added that during the recent India-New Zealand cricket series, Hotstar recorded 11.2 million people watching the match at the same time on the platform. With IPL, they expect this number to be significantly larger.

In 2018, Hotstar reached about 202 million viewers.
