Microsoft to Set Up ‘Centre for Excellence’ in Visakhapatnam

After Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s breakfast meeting with Indian origin Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, the latter agreed to set up a Centre for Excellence in Visakhapatnam aka Vizag.

Satya Nadella received a warm welcome from AP Chief Minister at the latter’s residence. The duo discussed about technology initiatives and signed an MoU between State Government and Microsoft.

AP government sought Microsoft to check measures to provide better civic service, improve agricultural productivity and setting up technical centre. As per the MoU signed, Microsoft India would provide technical knowledge to through Azure Machine Learning and Advanced Visualization lab method for data gathering, analysis and policy planning. Microsoft would also impart training to several top government officials in Cloud Technology.

In the meeting that lasted for nearly 80 minutes, the Microsoft CEO also promised to visit Anantapur during his next visit. Chandrababu’s vision is slowly taking AP to the next level in technical arena compared to other states.
