On this day: 3 November 1994, STS-66 was launched with ESA astronaut Jean-François Clervoy on board. STS-66 carried the Atmospheric Laboratory for Applications and Sciences 3 (ATLAS-03) payload, continuing a series of Spacelab flights to study the energy of the Sun and how it affects Earth’s climate and environment.
