Elon Musk has said that “next year (2020) for sure, we will have over 1 million robotaxis on the road”.
Chief Executive Officer of American automotive and energy company Tesla, Elon Musk on 22nd of April said that “next year (2020) for sure, we will have over 1 million robotaxis on the road”.
Addressing an event called ‘Tesla Autonomy Investor Day’, Mr. Musk said “I feel very confident predicting Autonomous robotaxis for Tesla next year.”
Mr. Musk also said, “they will not be in all jurisdictions, because we won’t have regulatory approval everywhere, but I am confident we will have at least regulatory approval somewhere, literally next year.”
He further revealed Tesla’s own chip for Self-driving cars and then said by mid-2020 drivers will not have to pay attention to the road. Tesla owners can change their cars into robotaxis, which can be hailed through an app.
A Robo-Taxi is an autonomous car operated for an e-hailing service.
