Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national President N. Chandrababu Naidu and his cabinet had estimated approximately Rs 2 crore expenditure for the TDP led one-day protest in Delhi called ‘Dharma Porata Deeksha

Approving the proposal made by the cabinet, the Finance department of the Andhra Pradesh had already released the above-mentioned amount and spent the sum on one-day Delhi programme.

Of approximately Rs 2 core, the government officially released Rs 1,12,16,465. The released expenditure excludes the costs for a special aeroplane to fly the AP chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The government of AP hired two special trains to mobilise people to Delhi. One train from Anantapur and the other from Srikakulam. The special train from Srikakulam costed Rs 59,49,380 and the train from Anantapur costed Rs 42,67,085. The government also deposited Rs 10 lakh for the coaches.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the other hand is spending party fund for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political tours.

Addressing a public meeting held in Guntur on Sunday (10th of Feb), Modi said that the party meetings expenditure is spent by the party, not by the government.

Now, the question is Are The Ruling Parties Allowed To Spend Public Money On Party Meetings?”

The governments should always spend ‘public money’ to directly satisfy the individual or collective needs of the public. The tax payers too expect the same from the governments.
