School Dropout Builds Helicopter in Assam

Here is the story of a school dropout who went to build a helicopter to help the people of his remote area.

Chandra Siwakoti Sharma, a school dropout and an automobile mechanic from Assam, built a helicopter that can carry two people and can easily move at 50kmph. He spent more than Rs 15 lakh to design this helicopter with metal sheets, car seats and 2 SUV engines.

Sharma’s only intention was to give his backward area, Shyamjuli in Dhemaji district in Assam, one of the remotest and most flood-affected area, a faster mode of communication. Vehicles struggle to reach the area due to one or more reasons.

Sharma is currently waiting for the clearance from authorities to find out if his helicopter really works. He could not study beyond class 3 because of his poverty but the big hearted man invested all his savings, Rs 15 lakh, and even sold his land to give his dream a reality.

Impressed by Sharma’s Innovation, locals have already written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to encourage him.
