Japanese multinational tech company Sony has started its own taxi-hailing app branded ‘S.Ride‘ in Japan.

The company as part of the business strategy has collaborated with five taxi firms.

Sony says the business partners have a combined total of more than 10,000 taxis in Tokyo city of Japan.

According to a spokesperson of the Sony, the company for this moment is not making any plans to expand the service outside of Japan.

Sony is among the semiconductor sales leaders and since 2015, the 5th largest television manufacturer in the world after Samsung electronics, LG Electronics, TCL and Hisense.

As of 1 April 2016, Sony is organized into the following business segments: Mobile Communications, Game & Network Services, Imaging Products & Solutions, Home entertainment & Sound, Semiconductors, Components, Pictures, Music, Financial Services and All Other.
