He thanked supporters for having “faith” in his team and promising to those who did not vote for him that “we will work every single day for you, and we will govern for everyone.”
Trudeau took to social media platform Twitter and wrote, “Thank you, Canada, for putting your trust in our team and for having faith in us to move this country in the right direction.”
He also wrote, “Regardless of how you cast your vote, our team will work hard for all Canadians.”
The United States President Donald J. Trump has congratulated Trudeau describing it a “hard fought victory”.
Mr. Trump took to Twitter and wrote, “Congratulations to Justin Trudeau on a wonderful and hard fought victory. Canada is well served. I look forward to working with you toward the betterment of both of our countries!”
Trudeau is the second-youngest Canadian Prime Minister after Joe Clark.
