UNDP appoints Padma Lakshmi as Goodwill Ambassador, on the eve of Women’s International Day

United Nations Development Programme has named Indian- American television personality and food expert Padma Lakshmi as their newest Goodwill Ambassador.

Lakshmi’s appointment has been announced on Thursday by UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner in a ceremony at the UNDP headquarters in the city, on the eve of International Women’s Day.

She is the Emmy-nominated television personality and award-winning author.
