The Supreme Court of India on 14th November rejected a set of review petitions looking for a court-monitored probe into the procurement of 36 Rafale fighter jets.

What made Apex court dismiss all review petitions on Rafale?

According to court’s decision, the pleas were without merit.

The court also rejected the argument that there was a need for registration of FIR in connection with the deal.

The petitions had sought re-examination of court’s 14th December 2018 verdict which said there was no case to doubt the decision-making process.

A set of petitions, including those filed by Yashwant Sinha, Arun Shourie and Prashant Bhushan had sought a review, alleging that material facts were suppressed and a criminal investigation should be filed in the case.
