Arunachal Pradesh on the Boil as Protesters Deputy CM’s residence on fire

The protestors set the private house of Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein in ablaze. According to the police, they are protesting against recommendations to grant permanent resident certificates to six communities.

They further added that defying curfew,  the office of the deputy commissioner was also raided by the protestors

The protestors also blocked the road leading to the Naharlagun railway station. This caused problems to many passengers, including patients, were held up at the station since Sunday morning.

The protestors set the private house of Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein in ablaze. According to the police, they are protesting against recommendations to grant permanent resident certificates to six communities.

They further added that defying curfew,  the office of the deputy commissioner was also raided by the protestors. Not only this a huge damaged was caused to public property and vehicles after a person who was injured in police firing on Friday succumbed to his injuries.

The protestors also blocked the road leading to the Naharlagun railway station. This caused problems to many passengers, including patients, were held up at the station since Sunday morning. All the markets, petrol pumps, and shops, everything is closed, and most of the ATMs in Arunachal Pradesh were out of cash,  Over 60 vehicles, including many police vehicles, were set on fire and the agitators damaged over 150 cars since Friday, they said.
