‘Balakot camp’- House more than 200 JeM terrorists

“The Balakot camp run by the terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed that was hit by the IAF on Tuesday is a  house of more than 200 terrorists.”, a senior government official said.

The head of the camp was Jaish chief Masood Azhar’s brother-in-law Yusuf Azhar.

According to a former Intelligence official, Yusuf Azhar was involved in the hijacking of the Indian flight IC 814 to Kandahar in 1999. India released the Jaish-e-Mohammed chief in exchange for the hijacked passengers.

The head of the camp was Jaish chief Masood Azhar’s brother-in-law Yusuf Azhar. The camp is located around 200 km from Islamabad on a hilltop in a forest far from the civilian area in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and offered the possibility of aquatic training to terrorists on the banks of the Kunhar river. According to an official, all the trainers at the camp were “ex-Army personnel.”

This camp was initially used as a training center by the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen another terrorist outfit active in J&K and supported by Pakistan.
