The historic decision came after a Dutch court ruled in the favour of Zeegers, asserting that sTopping somebody from recognising as gender-neutral is a “violation of their private life, self-determination and personal autonomy”.
According to data, approximately 4% people in Netherlands categorise as neither male nor female.
Third gender is a concept in which individuals are categorized, either by themselves or by society, as neither man nor woman.
The third gender concept is also a social category present-day in societies that recognize three or more genders. The term third is usually understood to mean “other”.
