Samsung in talks with Foxconn and Dixon Technologies to make TVs in India

Under intense pressure from the government to restart TV fabricating in India, Samsung Electronics has started talks with two of the nation’s leading contract makers, Foxconn and Dixon Technologies, to begin production of TV models up to 42-inches that represent over half of the Indian market.

According to two senior industry executives, Samsung does not want to reinvest in a plant for tv in India. It is because of contracting edges in the TV business amid exceptional value rivalry.

The government has told Samsung that it needs a commitment to begin nearby sourcing of TV in India before it cuts down an obligation on open cell TV board to zero from 5% that drove the Korean goliath shut down the TV production line in its Chennai plant.
