Subhash Chandra Garg designated as new Finance Secretary

According to a Personnel Ministry order, Economic Affairs Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg on Friday designated as the Finance Secretary.

The ministry order said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi headed Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved designating Garg as the Finance Secretary.

Former Finance Secretary Ajay Narayan Jha outmoded on February 28 and has taken over as Member, 15th Finance Commission.

58-year-old Subhash Chandra Garg is an IAS officer of Rajasthan Cadre from 1983 batch. He has been working as the Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs since June 2017. Former Finance Secretary Ajay Narayan Jha outmoded on February 28 and has taken over as Member, 15th Finance Commission.
